Why has the steering wheel design of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra been changed?
The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is positioned as a peak-performance tech sedan. Besides creating ultimate dynamic performance, many design details are prepared for an ultimate driving experience, and the new steering wheel design is one of them.
To improve the handling experience, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra steering wheel adopts a flat-top and flat-bottom design, which does not obstruct the driver's field of view and facilitates entry and exit from the driver's seat, allowing the driver to focus more on driving. Meanwhile, the new car's interior and exterior use up to 5㎡ of Alcantara material and a total of 17 carbon fiber parts. For instance, the two sides of the steering wheel grip use Alcantara to increase friction; the top and bottom areas use carbon fiber material to add a sporty feel; the steering wheel also adds a yellow return-to-center mark, helping the driver judge the steering wheel turning angle during intense driving. The new steering wheel also shows a significant improvement in refinement, such as the multifunction buttons adopting a new design, where the visual effect of the new buttons paired with the roller is simpler and has better design consistency.
