The Xiaomi SU7 ranked first in the pure electric large car category in J.D. Power's China New Energy Vehicle Initial Quality Study (NEV-IQS). How is this ranking determined?
According to information disclosed by J.D. Power, the China New Energy Vehicle Initial Quality Study (NEV-IQS) reflects users' comprehensive evaluation of product quality, representing the initial quality of new cars in real-world usage environments. The ranking is based on "Voice of the Customer" measurements and statistics of quality issues encountered by new energy vehicle owners during their ownership period of 2-6 months. The study analyzes traditional product quality (production quality) and potential product quality (usage defects caused by design) by brand, model, and market segment, using PP100 (Problems Per 100 Vehicles) to measure the quality performance of new energy vehicles. It covers 236 problem points across 10 major categories (including body exterior, driving experience, configuration/control system/dashboard, driver assistance, infotainment system, seats, air conditioning, interior trim, powertrain, and battery/charging). A lower PP100 score indicates fewer problems and better quality.
The Xiaomi SU7 achieved a PP100 of only 193, ranking first among pure electric large cars in the IQS scores. Although the Xiaomi SU7 is Xiaomi Auto's first model, its quality remains at the forefront of the industry.
Additionally, earlier the Xiaomi SU7 ranked first in the pure electric large car category in J.D. Power's 2025 China New Energy Vehicle Appeal Study (NEV-APEAL). The Xiaomi SU7 became the first product in J.D. Power history to win both awards within the first year of its launch.
