What is special about the Xiaomi Life Magnetic Car Tissue Box?

Compared to ordinary tissue boxes, the Xiaomi Life Magnetic Car Tissue Box meets much stricter reliability requirements for the in-car environment. It has been specially developed and designed across multiple dimensions, including material selection, temperature resistance, and anti-aging properties.

For example, to make it convenient for the driver and front passenger to access tissues, we designed a recess on the dashboard to hold the tissue box. Considering that the temperature in this recessed area can exceed 90°C after prolonged exposure to the sun outdoors in summer, we specially developed the tissue box to ensure it can withstand high temperatures and meet other related performance requirements.

First, the tissue box must pass a series of rigorous tests, including long-term thermal aging, damp heat aging, high and low temperature cycling, light aging, and flame retardancy, which place extremely high demands on the materials. What is even more challenging is that its appearance and magnetic function must remain normal even after enduring these harsh environments. To ensure quality, we even conducted thermal aging tests in environments with temperatures as high as 100°C (simulating the dashboard temperature after sun exposure in Turpan), and the results remained excellent.

Second, we have very high standards for the appearance of the tissue box. Although using soft materials could significantly reduce costs and pass all performance tests, it would be difficult to maintain a crisp shape, which would look out of place with the clean lines of the dashboard. Therefore, we chose a more expensive semi-rigid material.

Finally, our requirements for magnetic force are also very high. Ordinary grade magnetic magnets begin to demagnetize at around 80°C, and once the magnetic force is lost, it cannot be recovered. Considering that dashboard temperatures in many regions can reach this critical point after summer sun exposure, we specifically selected magnets that can withstand high temperatures of 95°C, which also significantly increased the cost of the tissue box.
