Why does Xiaomi Pengcheng support in-car office scenarios, and what facilities are available to support working in the car?
During the early user research for the Xiaomi Pengcheng project, we identified that some user groups mentioned a need for "in-car office" capabilities. They might be sales representatives for fast-moving consumer goods, real estate agents showing properties to clients, after-sales engineers stationed on-site, lawyers traveling to court hearings, or key account managers at advertising agencies...
They share common characteristics: fragmented time, frequent field work, and a constant need for a quiet, private space. One user specifically mentioned, "When I need to work outside, it is very difficult to find a place with a table, internet access, air conditioning, and quietness."
To address this, we fully considered these users' scenarios during product definition, striving to make it more convenient for users to handle temporary work needs while traveling. Taking the N90 Max as an example, we would like to share some of our product thinking.
Working in the car first requires a sufficiently spacious area. As a full-size SUV, the N90 Max has a length of 5285 mm, along with a boxy layout, a completely flat floor, and ample interior space, effectively providing users with a very spacious mobile office.
A useful table is also essential for working in the car. We offer flexible table solutions for different work durations and usage scenarios. For temporary work, you can simply insert the single cupholder table even while sitting in the driver's seat after parking to quickly handle some tasks. For longer, more comfortable work sessions, you can expand a large table on the right-side seat rail in the second row. This allows you to place a 16-inch laptop and even a cup of coffee.
Work also requires power and internet connectivity. The N90 Max provides 14 power interfaces throughout the vehicle. If your laptop runs out of power, there are 67W high-power Type-C charging ports under the front center console and behind the sliding center island, which can quickly charge your laptop. Additionally, there is a 220V power interface in the trunk supporting up to 2.2kW, allowing you to even bring a printer to print contracts on site, eliminating the need to search for print shops. For internet connectivity, dual 5G dual-network dual-pass technology significantly improves signal coverage and reliability. There is also Wi-Fi 7, allowing you to connect to a smooth in-car hotspot anytime, anywhere.
Thanks to the 76 kWh large battery range-extension solution, you can enjoy comfortable air conditioning for extended periods while parked without any psychological burden. Even if you need to leave immediately to meet a distant client, you do not need to worry about range anxiety.
When you are tired from working, you can open the refrigerator door and take out a cold cola to refresh yourself. You can also activate the zero-gravity seats to massage your body. You can even convert the space into a bed with one touch, lay out a mattress, and have a good sleep, all with ease and composure.
If you are meeting a client and find it inconvenient to locate a café or an office, invite the client into the car and adjust the seats to "Living Room Mode." The front seats rotate to face each other, and you can expand the large table on the center island. This makes discussions and conversations, such as reviewing proposals or signing contracts with clients, convenient and efficient.
