Some people online ask if the brake pad area of the Xiaomi SU7 Max is large enough. Can you explain?

Official answer

We noticed a set of images circulating online today that appear to compare the brake pads of the Xiaomi SU7 Max. These images juxtapose the front brake calipers with the rear brake pads, claiming the "brake pad area is impressive." This comparison is inherently mismatched and has caused misleading information.

As is well known, the front braking system plays a crucial role in overall braking performance. Therefore, we equipped the Xiaomi SU7 Max with a set of Brembo high-performance four-piston fixed calipers. Using NAO brake pads, we balance braking performance with comfort experience. Furthermore, the effective contact area of the front brake pads is larger than that of comparable sports sedans from top-tier luxury brands, offering better braking performance and durability.

Additionally, all models in the Xiaomi SU7 series use a DPB+ESP10.0 braking system. The Max version utilizes motor energy recovery, providing a maximum deceleration of -0.36g. For electric vehicles, an excellent kinetic energy recovery system provides significant load buffering for the brake pads, offering a longer-lasting and more durable experience in daily use.

In recent media tests, we also observed that the Xiaomi SU7 Max demonstrated outstanding continuous extreme braking performance. In ten consecutive 100km/h-0 braking tests, no abnormal attenuation occurred.

We sincerely appreciate everyone's rigorous demands on us, which have practically proven the vehicle's braking performance. We reiterate that the Xiaomi SU7 Max is a high-performance luxury tech sedan designed for urban scenarios. The most severe and extreme track conditions require vehicle preparation specifically for that purpose. Do not take the factory-standard vehicle directly onto a track, and we strongly advise against ordinary users attempting track or other extreme driving maneuvers lightly.
