Why do the windshield wipers work automatically when the vehicle is in Park (P) gear?

The automatic wipers of the Xiaomi SU7 use an optical sensor principle. When you press the START/STOP button or step on the brake pedal to start the vehicle, the powertrain is ready, and the vehicle can be driven. At this point, if the wipers are in the automatic mode, the wipers will automatically determine whether to operate based on the rainfall intensity, which is unrelated to whether the vehicle is in Park or Drive gear.
If the windshield is frozen or covered with ice/snow in winter, to prevent damage to the wipers, we recommend switching the wiper gear to Off upon entering the vehicle. After clearing the ice and snow from the windshield, you can then enable the automatic wiper mode and start the vehicle.
