Are the large-sized carbon-ceramic discs on the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version custom-made?
To meet the powerful performance demands of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, almost all performance-related components are jointly developed or deeply customized by Xiaomi Auto, and the carbon-ceramic brake discs are no exception.
First, to meet performance and heat dissipation requirements, the size of the carbon-ceramic discs is the core of customization; these are currently the largest carbon-ceramic discs available on sedans in the market. We first customized the ultra-large diameters of 430mm for the front and 410mm for the rear, while also considering the spatial layout of the overall braking system.
Additionally, the carbon-ceramic discs use 10 sets of stainless steel fasteners. The complex structure makes traditional forging processes difficult to adopt; instead, advanced contour machining CNC production is used to ensure the stability of connecting parts during high-intensity braking.
Finally, including the brake disc drilling layout and internal airflow channel structure, are also custom-developed by Xiaomi and suppliers, ultimately achieving extreme performance in layout, weight, performance, heat dissipation, friction uniformity, and other dimensions despite the large volume.(Left: Front brake disc of Xiaomi SU7 MAX; Right: Front carbon-ceramic brake disc of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra)
