Does rainy or snowy weather affect the intelligent driving functions?
The Xiaomi intelligent driving system is equipped with super-resolution occupancy network technology. This technology primarily serves the LiDAR for the precise recognition of irregular obstacles, but with its support, it also optimizes the operation of the intelligent driving system in rainy and snowy weather.
In rainy and snowy weather, this technology can perform noise reduction on the data collected by the LiDAR. For example, water splashed up by the wheels of the vehicle ahead while driving in the rain would be recognized as an obstacle before noise reduction, but after noise reduction, it will be treated as a non-obstacle and the vehicle will pass normally.
However, we advise users not to use the intelligent driving functions in extremely severe weather conditions such as extremely low visibility or extremely low road adhesion.
In addition, if rain, snow, or sand blocks the sensors related to intelligent driving, the system will promptly alert the user. It is recommended to clean the sensors promptly when such alerts appear.
