How should Xiaomi Dashcam be set up and used?
The factory-installed dashcam function of Xiaomi EV provides loop recording capability using 4 cameras. By utilizing the front camera, rear surround-view camera, left rear side-view camera, and right rear side-view camera, it completely records the footage during driving, but does not use in-car microphones or other devices;
After inserting the dedicated dashcam USB drive into the glove box, open Settings from the control bar at the bottom of the central control screen, go to Safety > Dashcam, and tap to turn the function on or off (please refer to the owner's manual for USB drive specifications);
If there is an emergency you want to record while driving, you can save the footage in the following ways:
- Honk to Save: After the vehicle honks, the driving video from a period before and after the honk will be saved to the USB device. You can open Settings from the control bar at the bottom of the central control screen, go to Safety > Honk to Save, and tap to turn this function on or off;
- Dashcam Save: You can swipe down from the top left edge of the central control screen to pull out the Control Center and tap Dashcam. The system will save the video from a period before the tap. Special note: If the dashcam function is turned off, tapping Dashcam in the Control Center for the first time will turn on the dashcam, and tapping it again will activate the Control Center save function. If the dashcam function is already on, tapping Dashcam in the Control Center will directly activate the Control Center save function;
- When an emergency accident occurs, the dashcam will automatically save the emergency video from 60 seconds before the accident point to 30 seconds after the accident. Even if you exit the vehicle, lock the doors, and leave, this video from before you exited will still be saved;
- Videos saved via the Control Center and during emergencies will not be overwritten by loop recording, ensuring you can view the information you need. When the USB drive storage space is less than 3GB, it will automatically overwrite older honk-saved videos in chronological order.
When the vehicle is powered off, the dashcam will stop working, and you can turn on Sentry Mode to view the surroundings of the vehicle;
In addition, the Sentry Mode of the new-generation Xiaomi SU7 has been upgraded. When high-risk events are detected, the exterior Xiao Ai will issue voice warnings to deter intruders, ensuring your parking safety; in the future, all Xiaomi YU7 models will also receive this feature via OTA push. The specific upgrade time and schedule will be pushed in batches according to the feature adaptation progress. Please pay attention to official announcements and in-car push notifications.
