The technical name for that robot is the AMR logistics transport robot. These robots are indeed ubiquitous in the Xiaomi Smart EV Factory, and many visitors find them quite cute. They can be seen as intelligent porters capable of autonomously reading maps, planning routes, and moving safely in complex environments. In the Xiaomi factory, robots have achieved 100% automated transport for medium and large components.
Compared to traditional AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) used in factories that require electromagnetic induction guide lines to be laid on the ground, AMRs can achieve autonomous navigation through visual algorithms. Without manual intervention, they can adjust routes in real time according to production plans.
AMRs can automatically deliver materials to the production line, retrieve empty bins, and seamlessly interface with equipment such as robotic arms, achieving full-process automation in production.
