What are the key design factors that determine whether a trunk is practical, and how does the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max perform in this regard?

Official answer

From the perspective of Xiaomi Pengcheng, a practical trunk hinges on three key points: spaciousness, flexibility, and convenience. The N90 Max has given thorough consideration to all three aspects.

First, it must be "spacious." With all seats in their default positions, the N90 Max offers a standard trunk volume of 577L. When seven passengers are seated normally, the trunk can accommodate seven 20-inch suitcases, or two 24-inch suitcases plus four 20-inch suitcases and one carry-on bag. It can also hold two 28-inch suitcases simultaneously. Whether for weekly family grocery shopping or camping trips to the suburbs, various items can be easily stored.

Second, it must be "flexible." If you feel the standard trunk volume is insufficient, don't worry. Thanks to the completely flat floor and extra-long slide rails, the second- and third-row seats can be moved flexibly to adjust the required trunk loading space as needed. Moreover, we have preset convenient storage and maximum storage modes in the vehicle's infotainment system. For example, when you have large-item loading needs, you can tap to enter Maximum Storage mode. The second row moves to the frontmost position, and the third-row seat cushions flip up and move to the frontmost position. This releases an ultra-large expandable volume of 1831L, allowing two 700C road bicycles to be placed directly inside without removing the wheels. Additionally, items can be placed directly on the floor without worrying about dirtying or scratching the seats.

Third, it must be "convenient." The N90 Max trunk has a large, square opening, with a minimum sill height of only 690mm from the ground. When paired with the air suspension, it can be lowered by another 50mm, making it easier and less strenuous to lift heavy items, while also reducing the risk of items scraping against the sill.

This is the trunk of the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max. Not only is the volume large, but it also allows for flexible allocation of space between the passenger cabin and the trunk, with enhanced usability in terms of convenient design features.
