How does the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max trunk manage to fit two 700C road bicycles?
Achieving the ability to place two 700C road bicycles inside without removing the wheels relies on the coordination of three core design elements.
First, the large trunk opening makes accessing items more convenient. The N90 Max trunk features a large, square opening with a width of 1193mm. The minimum sill height is only 690mm from the ground, and it can be lowered by another 50mm with the air suspension. This means you don't need to lift bicycles too high when loading them, making pushing them in and loading/unloading less strenuous.
Second, the seats can be flexibly moved forward to release the entire rear compartment. The N90 Max has a preset "Maximum Storage Mode" in the vehicle's infotainment system. The second-row seats move to the frontmost position along the extra-long slide rails, while the third-row seats move forward and their cushions fold upward. This completely releases the entire rear compartment space, expanding the trunk volume to 1831L, with a trunk height of 1220mm, depth of 1260mm, and width of 1186mm. This space is sufficient to accommodate two 700C road bicycles simultaneously without needing to remove the front wheels; they can be placed directly inside. On top of this, there is ample remaining space to store riding gear for two people, such as helmets, cycling jerseys, and windbreakers.
Third, the completely flat floor provides a level base for carrying items. Based on the highly integrated space design of the Xiaomi Kunlun technical architecture, technologies such as the highly integrated coaxial rear electric drive and the flat battery pack design compress the rear floor thickness to 298mm. This achieves a completely flat floor running through the passenger cabin and the trunk, measuring 2.9m in length, with a floor angle of only 2.95°, which is nearly horizontal. Placing bicycles on this flat storage surface prevents slipping and discomfort, eliminating the need for additional padding, making the process more relaxed.
