With similar voltage platforms, why can the Xiaomi SU7 Standard Edition charge significantly faster than the Tesla Model 3?

Official answer

The Xiaomi SU7 can achieve a charging speed of 350km (CLTC) in 15 minutes on self-operated charging piles, which is 100km more than the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive Refreshed Edition under the same conditions.

The peak voltage of the high-voltage platform for the Xiaomi SU7 Standard Edition is 486V, featuring a full-domain silicon carbide design known as the "Super 400V" platform. In contrast, the peak voltage of the Model 3 Refreshed Edition is 394V. Therefore, under the same current conditions, a higher voltage can achieve higher charging power.

At the same time, the application of the Xiaomi Modena architecture enables better charging curve optimization; whether in summer or winter, the powerful thermal management system can keep the battery in a more efficient charging temperature range.
