What is special about the track-version battery of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra?
The track is one of the most demanding operating conditions for electric vehicles. To achieve good results on the track, the requirements for the three-electric system (battery, motor, electronic control) are extremely strict. Besides requiring sustained high-power output from the motor, the battery needs extremely high discharge power, strong heat dissipation capabilities, and ultra-fast charging performance.
Firstly, the mass-produced Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is equipped with a track-version high-power battery pack derived from the same source as the prototype. Its peak voltage reaches 897V, maximum discharge power reaches 1330kW, and maximum discharge rate is 16C. Combined with multiple innovative battery technologies, it can deliver a maximum power of 800kW even at 20% battery level. This performance means that under depleted battery conditions, it performs stronger than some "pure electric beasts" on the Nürburgring track when they are fully charged.
Secondly, continuous high-performance output leads to significant heat accumulation. Through the application of highly conductive electrolytes and ultra-high porosity porous electrodes, we have reduced the internal resistance of the cells to a global lowest mass-production level of 0.25mΩ, significantly reducing heat generation during battery operation. Based on the new cell form factor, the battery pack also adopts the industry's strongest dual large-surface active cooling technology, with a peak heat exchange power of up to 18kW, allowing Xiaomi SU7 Ultra to complete two consecutive laps at the Nürburgring while keeping the battery within its optimal working temperature throughout.
Finally, combined with Xiaomi's "Atomic Charging" and "Near-Cold-Source Tab Heat Dissipation" technologies, the battery pack achieves an ultra-high charging rate of 5.2C, requiring only 11 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. It can easily return to the track in just one break, greatly enhancing track fun and surpassing daily replenishment needs.
In addition, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra track-version high-power battery pack continues Xiaomi's CTB integrated battery safety heritage. It still employs cell inversion technology, 14-layer physical structural protection, 7.3m² dual large-surface cooling, 170 sheets of aerogel, 17 layers of high-voltage insulation protection, and cloud-vehicle collaborative safety warning systems, jointly safeguarding battery safety. Even at 55°C high temperature with full charge, thermal runaway of a single cell will not lead to thermal propagation. On this basis, we have additionally added specialized protective structures for the track-version high-power battery pack, which will be shared in detail with everyone upon official launch. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra battery safety remains rock-solid, with further advancements in track safety.
