I saw the extreme scenario battery tests conducted by CATARC for the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. Why were these scenarios chosen for testing?

All test items and scenarios shown in the video were jointly customized by CATARC and Xiaomi Auto for the track-level battery pack of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. As a new luxury car that is 'suitable for both street and track', the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra needs to fully balance daily commuting and extreme track driving requirements. All these test items are derived from users' real driving scenarios. Among them, the 'simulated collision' simulates the huge energy impact the battery needs to withstand when the vehicle hits a wall at high speed with an acceleration exceeding 60g. The 'pothole scraping bottom' scenario is also very close to users' daily lives, simulating the potential situation of the vehicle scraping the bottom on damaged roads while driving at 30 km/h. After scraping the bottom, conducting a wading test directly when the extent of battery damage is unknown not only tests the battery pack's scratch and puncture resistance but also its waterproof sealing performance. The 'jump scrape bottom test' is a scenario that might be encountered when the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype was challenging the record for the fastest 4-door car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, facing the extreme track conditions of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, such as scraping the bottom after landing from road undulations at high speed, or crossing high concrete curbs at high speed. This is also one of the valuable experiences we have accumulated since June last year during our tuning work at the Nürburgring.
