What is the difference between driving modes and driving scenario modes?
Driving modes preset different vehicle performance states to accommodate users' diverse driving styles; you can quickly switch between them using the driving mode knob on the steering wheel. Scenario modes, on the other hand, are more suitable for specific driving needs in certain special scenarios, such as low battery, motion sickness, snowy and slippery roads, and light off-roading.
Taking the Xiaomi YU7 Max as an example, it offers 5 driving modes: Comfort Mode, Sport Mode, Sport+ Mode, Economy Mode (preset), and Novice Mode (preset), as well as 5 special scenario modes:
The vehicle operates in the most energy-efficient state. Compared to Economy Mode, Super Power Saving Mode further reduces power output, disables driving assistance and parking assistance functions, and restricts air conditioning, seat heating, entertainment, and other features. It also lowers the chassis height to achieve maximum driving range.
Motion Sickness Relief Mode:
We collaborated with Beijing Tongren Hospital and Shanghai Huashan Hospital to conduct extensive research on physiological indicators such as ECG, eye movement, and electrodermal activity of people prone to motion sickness. We optimized the driving feel of the Xiaomi YU7 across four dimensions: acceleration, constant speed, deceleration, and suspension support. We specially developed Motion Sickness Relief Mode to achieve "smooth acceleration, silky constant speed, gentle deceleration, and no 'boat-like' feeling during driving," thereby reducing the incidence of motion sickness.
Snow Mode:
For slippery scenarios like snow, Snow Mode adopts a more stable four-wheel drive distribution strategy. The regenerative braking intensity is also specially tuned for low-adhesion surfaces to reduce the risk of drive wheels slipping or the vehicle losing stability during acceleration and deceleration, providing a safer driving experience.
Off-Road Assistance Mode:
When facing harsh road conditions, Off-Road Assistance Mode improves rough-road passability and comfort by adjusting suspension height (maximum ground clearance of 222mm), optimizing front/rear power distribution, and adjusting the operation of electronic limited-slip systems. This meets the passability needs for near-suburb light off-roading and camping camp dirt/gravel roads.
Hill Descent Control:
It automatically controls the braking force of each of the four wheels individually. On steeper downhill slopes, it keeps the vehicle speed low and maintains tire grip, allowing the car to safely drive down to flat ground at the bottom of the slope.
