How should I use the brake disc rust removal mode on the Xiaomi YU7?
You can open Settings from the control bar at the bottom of the central control screen, go to Service > Brake Disc Rust Removal, and click to enable or disable this feature. Please note that once the brake disc rust removal feature is enabled, the brake energy recovery function will not be available, and you will need to press the brake pedal to generate braking force.
Additionally, the Xiaomi YU7 provides a passive brake disc rust removal function: When you use the high kinetic energy recovery mode, the vehicle will periodically apply hydraulic brakes to perform "disc grinding rust removal," working silently almost imperceptibly to achieve the rust removal purpose.
Rusting of brake discs is a normal phenomenon, so please do not worry. Most automotive brake discs are made of materials like gray cast iron, which tend to rust when exposed to humid air or rain, especially during the recent rainy season. Slight rust usually does not affect braking performance. If you wish to remove rust quickly, you can also do so by applying continuous brakes on a safe road section.
