When charging at an outdoor charging station, Xiaomi YU7 encountered rain. Do I need to take any waterproof measures for the charging port?
Typically, you do not need to take extra waterproofing measures. The Xiaomi YU7 charging interface has passed national mandatory inspection certification and meets the IP55 dust and water resistance standard after the charging gun is inserted. The charging socket has a built-in drainage system; when a small amount of water enters the interior of the charging port, it will not accumulate but can be drained outside the vehicle. Therefore, you do not need to worry about charging safety during daily light rain, but if you encounter extreme heavy rain, we recommend postponing charging.
We specially remind you not to cover or wrap the charging interface with items such as plastic bags or towels, as this may lead to poor heat dissipation and pose safety hazards. When operating the charge, please confirm that there are no foreign objects in the charging gun head and the vehicle interface and that they are dry, ensuring that the charging gun is fully inserted into the vehicle interface and locked; if you frequently charge outdoors, please use the charging dust cap to seal the other "uncharging port" properly to prevent foreign objects from entering and causing safety hazards.
