The curb weight of the new-generation Xiaomi SU7 seems heavier than the original one. Why is this?

Official answer

The new-generation Xiaomi SU7 has undergone significant upgrades in all aspects, so its curb weight has indeed slightly increased compared to the first-generation Xiaomi SU7. The new-generation SU7 comes standard with a 2200MPa Xiaomi ultra-high-strength steel "embedded roll cage," standard 265mm rear wide tires, standard front four-piston fixed brake calipers, and upgrades to seats and other comfort features. These additions cause the curb weight of each version of the new-generation SU7 to increase compared to the first-generation SU7. However, its maximum laden mass remains the same as the first-generation Xiaomi SU7 at 450kg, maintaining the same capacity for passengers and storage.

At the same time, the increase in weight does not affect the performance of the new-generation SU7 in terms of range, braking, and handling. Through multiple technological upgrades, the new-generation SU7 achieves better safety, longer range, faster charging efficiency, and superior braking and handling performance.
