Is it necessary to apply a sun protection film to the glass of the newly delivered new-generation SU7?

Official answer

The new-generation SU7 continues the Xiaomi EV family's excellent sun protection and heat insulation capabilities. The front windshield, panoramic roof, and four door windows all possess outstanding UV and infrared ray blocking abilities, which can meet the needs of most users. Therefore, you may consider not applying an extra film;

We would like to highlight the performance of the panoramic roof and front windshield, as these two pieces of glass receive direct sunlight and have the largest surface area:

The front windshield of all new-generation SU7 models uses laminated glass with a triple silver-plating process, achieving a UV blocking rate of 99.5% and an infrared blocking rate of 97.6%;

The panoramic roofs of the new-generation SU7 Standard and Pro versions also use laminated glass with a dual silver-plating process, achieving a UV blocking rate of 99.9% and an infrared blocking rate of 99.04%. The new-generation SU7 Max is further equipped with the latest generation dual-zone EC dimming panoramic roof, which not only achieves a maximum shading rate of 99.85% but also reaches a 99.9% UV and infrared blocking rate, taking heat insulation capabilities a step further.

Additionally, the four door windows of all new-generation SU7 models come standard with laminated glass, all achieving a UV blocking rate of 99.9%; the front door windows have an infrared blocking rate of 77.23%, and the rear windows achieve an infrared blocking rate of 80.09%;

We recommend that you also use UV testing tools to personally experience the sun protection performance of the new-generation SU7 at our stores.
