What is the maximum wading depth of the Xiaomi Pengcheng series? What designs are included in the complete wading safety protection system?
The entire Xiaomi Pengcheng series is equipped with a Wading Mode, providing certain emergency wading capabilities. Among them, the N90 Max has a maximum wading depth of 750 mm, and the N70 Max has a maximum wading depth of 650 mm. The complete wading safety protection system can be summarized into three aspects of design.
First, the power battery achieves dual waterproof ratings of IPX8 and IPX9K. IPX8 means it can be submerged at a depth of 1 meter for 48 hours, while IPX9K represents protection against high-temperature, high-pressure water jets. Combined, these basically cover relatively extreme conditions in wading scenarios. In addition, wiring harness connectors for the suspension, braking, and steering systems also reach IPX7 and IPX9K levels, helping to reduce the risk of short circuits.
Second, we have implemented a "raising engineering" approach for the range extender air intake and the cabin pressure relief valve. We moved the range extender air intake below the front windshield, achieving a maximum ground clearance of 1109 mm. The cabin pressure relief valve was moved above the tailgate, achieving a maximum ground clearance of 950 mm. Compared to the traditional pressure relief valve height of approximately 700 mm, this provides an additional 250 mm of safety margin. The air conditioning system also features a "three-level waterproof dam" to achieve multi-layered water blocking. These are all key measures to increase the vehicle's maximum wading depth.
Third, significant effort has been put into interior sealing. Good sealing helps avoid damage to interior trim and wiring caused by water entering the passenger compartment during wading. If accidentally entering deep water, a well-sealed vehicle also offers a longer window for escape. Xiaomi Pengcheng systematically optimizes the whole-vehicle sealing, upgrades 27 high-waterproof plugs, and adopts a series of measures such as large-area double seals across the vehicle. In addition, the cavities of the A/B/C pillars use double-layer sealing with hot-melt EVA and foamed EVA to delay water ingress into the cabin.
Through efforts in these three areas, the Xiaomi Pengcheng achieves a maximum wading depth of 750 mm. With the support of Wading Mode, it possesses certain emergency wading capabilities, effectively handling increasingly common urban waterlogging scenarios, providing users with a more comfortable and safer driving experience.
