Long-term Episode 26 · Question 2

Are there any safety hazards or regulatory risks associated with installing expansion accessories inside the vehicle?

Official answer

Currently, all official Xiaomi CarIoT smart devices and expansion accessories (including car phone holders, smart dual dials, seat-back tablet holders, and physical keyboards for the center console screen) strictly comply with regulations. Relevant laws require that drivers must not hang or place items in the front or rear windows of the driver's cabin that obstruct their line of sight. None of Xiaomi's official expansion devices pose a risk of obstructing the driver's view.

All interior expansion accessories for the Xiaomi SU7 have undergone relevant tests, including crash and durability tests. Taking the phone holder as an example, those installed via the 1/4-inch standard interface offer stronger reliability. In rigorous sled crash tests, all tests were passed. Therefore, it can be guaranteed that user safety is maximized during normal use.

However, we would like to remind users to install the devices according to the instructions provided with the CarIoT smart devices and to tighten the screws securely. Additionally, previous episodes of "Xiaomi SU7 Q&A for Netizens" have also reminded users that when using the 1/4-inch standard interface on the right side of the instrument panel, ensure that no one is sitting in the front passenger seat. When using the phone holder, the phone should be placed appropriately.
