Does the triple-layer silver-plated glass really affect mobile phone signals?
The triple-layer silver-plated glass will not affect mobile phone signals.
The triple-layer silver plating on the windshield is a sun protection technology adopted by Xiaomi Auto. Our production partner, Fuyao Glass (a listed company), recently explained this issue on its investor interaction platform: Regional laser defilming treatment is performed on the coated Xiaomi SU7 glass to reserve receiving windows for ETC, GPS, and various other signals, supporting barrier-free recognition of electronic signals and not affecting signal transmission.
During the development process of the Xiaomi SU7, sufficient mobile phone signal testing and verification were conducted, and it will not interfere with mobile network signals. This testing covered mainstream brands of 15 mobile phones and three major operators, across residential communities, business office buildings, large shopping malls, underground garages, urban areas, suburbs, mountains, city viaducts, tunnels, highways, service areas, national roads, and provincial roads in many places nationwide. Comprehensive testing and verification were performed for different vehicle positions and window open/close states. The conclusion is: All tested mobile phones passed the test, with no impact on navigation signals, internet signals, communication signals, or multimedia fluency experience.
Vehicles without original factory triple-layer silver-plated windshields that choose third-party heat-insulating films containing precious metals may indeed affect mobile phone signals due to the lack of strict testing and verification.
