In the latest OTA, the traffic light reminder function always seems to have a delay of 1-2 seconds in actual use. Why is this?
The original intention of the traffic light reminder function is to remind the driver if they become distracted while following a car or waiting at a red light and fail to start promptly. When the driver is normally focused on driving and starts promptly, the reminder is not triggered. Therefore, this is not a functional delay.
The traffic light reminder function includes red-light running reminders and green-light start reminders. The system uses the forward-facing camera to recognize lane markings for the current vehicle and the status of traffic lights to determine the vehicle's intended direction of travel. It issues a reminder when there is a risk of running a red light or when the vehicle fails to start promptly after the green light turns on.
Green-light start reminder: When stopped at a red light intersection, if the traffic signal changes to green and the vehicle does not start within a certain duration (approximately 1.5s), the central control screen will display the text prompt "Green light, please proceed" and issue an audible reminder. Currently, this only supports lanes with straight-ahead lane markings.
We must emphasize here—the traffic light reminder function is a safety assistance feature and cannot replace the driver's visual checks. Drivers must remain attentive during driving and avoid over-reliance or misuse of this function to ensure driving safety.
