There are videos online showing a Xiaomi SU7 emitting smoke after an accident. What happened?
Around 10:03 AM on September 16, 2024, a Xiaomi SU7 was involved in an accidental traffic collision near the Nanjing South Railway Station. We are sharing the preliminary analysis results of the incident as follows:
We cooperated with traffic police, fire departments, and insurance companies to inspect the accident scene. Combined with vehicle data analysis, we preliminarily confirmed that while driving, slippery road conditions and improper driver operation caused the vehicle to leave the lane and crash into the isolation flower bed area. The front bumper and chassis area hit continuous square stones (approximately 28cm * 30cm * 50cm) around the isolation barrier. The impact caused severe damage to the bottom of the battery. It is suspected that the internal battery suffered local short-circuiting due to the impact, resulting in brief smoking and open flames, along with downward pressure relief. Firefighters intervened promptly after the accident, resolving the vehicle risk and moving it to a safe area.
