What is the relationship and difference between 'Prototype' and 'Production Car'?
A prototype is a vehicle primarily used for testing and validating design concepts, performance, and technologies. It is usually produced in small batches and is expensive, and does not need to fully comply with relevant regulations and standards.
A production car is used for mass production and sales, and must undergo more rigorous durability and safety tests. Mass production requires greater consideration of economic viability and durability, while also complying with all applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Taking Xiaomi Auto as an example, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype is the prototype, and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is the production car. We will transfer core technologies mounted on the prototype, such as the Xiaomi HyperEngine three-motor system, track-version high-power battery pack, and track-version cooling system, to the production car after extensive testing and validation on the Nürburgring. At the same time, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production car itself will also undergo testing and validation at the Nürburgring. This process makes the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra a four-door sports car with pure racing DNA.
