Wet surfaces reduce the friction between tires and the road, leading to decreased grip. This affects the acceleration, braking, and cornering performance of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype, thereby impacting lap times; in extreme cases, standing water may cause tires to slip, further reducing overall vehicle controllability.
Regrettably, 20% of the track surface was still wet on the day of the test, which significantly impacted our track results. We also hope to have the opportunity to break our lap time record again.
