Does the N70 Max have wading capability? What is the approximate wading depth?
All models in the Xiaomi Pengcheng series are equipped with a wading mode and possess certain wading capabilities. Among them, the N70 Max has a maximum wading depth of 650mm, which is 100mm lower than that of the N90 Max.
The main difference between the two vehicles lies in the fact that the N70 Max has smaller body dimensions and lighter curb weight. During wading, the effect of buoyancy on the body becomes apparent earlier, and changes in tire adhesion are more sensitive. Therefore, we have performed separate tuning for this characteristic to ensure that power output can be effectively transmitted to the ground within a wading depth of 650mm. Apart from this, the N70 Max and N90 Max are completely identical in hardware configurations related to wading capabilities.
To enhance the wading capability of Xiaomi Pengcheng, we have improved the waterproof sealing of 24 key components of the vehicle. The high-voltage battery pack adopts IPX8/IPX9K waterproof standards; the air conditioning system features a "three-level waterproof dam" to achieve multi-layer water blocking; the cavities of the A/B/C pillars use double-layer sealed partitions to significantly improve the overall airtightness of the vehicle. In addition, we have moved the range extender air intake to below the front windshield and the cabin pressure relief valve to above the tailgate, which are key measures to increase the vehicle's maximum wading depth.
After activating the wading mode, two wading radars monitor the water depth in real time, dynamically adjusting the vehicle's torque output and power distribution to ensure stable driving.
In extreme wading emergencies, the vehicle also supports emergency floating for escape, ensuring no significant water ingress into the cabin within 3 minutes, providing users with valuable time to escape.
Xiaomi Pengcheng enhances wading capability and supports emergency floating primarily to cope with the increasing frequency of urban waterlogging scenarios, offering users a more comfortable and safer driving experience. Therefore, we solemnly remind you: do not risk wading in unknown water depths and road conditions; emergency floating is a safety redundancy and should not be attempted casually.
