The body uses an integrated hot-formed door ring. What are the advantages compared to traditional structures?
Xiaomi Pengcheng uses an integrated hot-formed door ring, where multiple sheets are laser-welded into one piece and then stamped into shape in a single hot-forming process. Compared to the traditional method where multiple stamped parts are formed separately and then joined by resistance spot welding, the integrated forming makes the entire door ring structure continuous and complete, significantly improving overall strength while reducing the risk of weld point failure. It also offers advantages in weight reduction and manufacturing efficiency.
Both the Xiaomi Pengcheng N70 Max and N90 Max use integrated hot-formed door rings. The door ring of the N90 Max achieves an ultra-high integration level of 13-in-1, covering the A, B, C, and D pillars, spanning the first, second, and third rows, with dimensions reaching 3289mm in length and 1556mm in height. According to publicly available technical data, this is currently the largest integrated hot-formed door ring in the industry. Taking side pole impact scenarios as an example, the lateral load-bearing capacity of the body is increased by 19%; additionally, four sections of 2200MPa Xiaomi Ultra-High Strength Steel are used within the door ring on each side to further enhance protection in scenarios such as small overlap collisions and side collisions.
Beyond the door rings, the Armor Cage Body of Xiaomi Pengcheng comprehensively strengthens the body safety architecture. Taking the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max as an example, the proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy reaches 90.4%. The entire vehicle applies 16 sections of 2200MPa Xiaomi Ultra-High Strength Steel, working together with the integrated hot-formed door rings, integrated hot-formed front floor frame, and "embedded roll cage" high-strength designs to build comprehensive passive safety protection.
