The actual tested pure electric highway range reached 323.6 km. What does this figure signify? How does it relate to daily vehicle usage?

Official answer

First, let us review a fact: our test statistics ended when the range extender engaged (at 10% remaining charge), yielding an actual pure electric highway range of 323.6 km. If the remaining charge were forcibly used down to 3%, the actual pure electric highway range would be approximately 348.77 km.

The relevance to daily usage is that over 65% of extended-range vehicles currently on the market have CLTC pure electric range ratings below 300 km, which typically drop by 30% during actual highway driving, resulting in just over 200 km. This means that for a 100 km one-way intercity round trip, the range might be insufficient, necessitating fuel use or finding a charger midway.

However, the N90 Max's actual tested highway range exceeds the CLTC rated values of many extended-range vehicles. Typically, round trips between Beijing and Tianjin or one-way trips between Chengdu and Chongqing can be completed entirely on pure electric power, while a trip from Shenzhen to Xiamen requires only one mid-journey charge to avoid using any fuel. This also means that users with weekly commuting distances under 400 km need to charge only once per week.
