By simple conversion, a comparable fuel SUV would require approximately 123 L of fuel to cover 1,230 km, yet their fuel tanks typically hold only 80-90 L; a comparable pure electric SUV would require about 209 kWh of electricity, while few mass-produced vehicles are equipped with batteries exceeding 130 kWh. Without significant reductions in energy consumption, battery capacity and fuel tank volume represent the respective range bottlenecks for these two energy forms.
