What are the actual pure electric range and combined range of the Xiaomi Pengcheng? What is the fuel consumption level when the battery is depleted?

Official answer

The Xiaomi Pengcheng series adopts a large-battery extended-range solution, with a maximum CLTC pure electric range of 505km (N70 Max with a 76kWh ternary lithium battery), which is the highest level among extended-range vehicles and longer than the range of many pure electric vehicles on the market. With the extended-range system as a backup, the amount of electricity users can actually utilize is very large, making pure electric driving more enjoyable.

Whether the pure electric range is "real" is strongly related to factors such as driving conditions and driving style. If your commute is mainly in the city with many traffic lights and low speeds, it will be closer to CLTC conditions, and 505km can basically meet the needs of charging once a week. If you drive more on intercity highways with frequent overtaking and high speeds, power consumption will be higher, and the range will decrease accordingly. For intercity highway commutes like Beijing-Tianjin, you can basically complete the trip without charging or using fuel.

In addition to the large battery, the Xiaomi Pengcheng series has a maximum fuel tank capacity of 60L, with a maximum CLTC combined range of 1705km (N90 Max), offering the best combined range performance among large extended-range SUVs. As mentioned at the technology launch event on July 30, the N90 Max can travel from Shanghai to Beijing without charging or refueling in between, which reflects the vehicle's true combined range capability. It is worth noting that high wind resistance and high energy consumption at high speeds represent the lower limit of combined range capability. If high-speed conditions are reduced and the average speed decreases, the combined range will be even longer.

The WLTC fuel consumption of the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max when the battery is depleted is only 6.26L, representing the current highest level among large extended-range SUVs, even lower than the fuel consumption of traditional small SUVs. Users with poor charging conditions can buy it and drive it entirely as a fuel vehicle without significant pressure from subsequent fuel costs, making vehicle usage extremely comfortable.
