In rainy or humid weather, brake disc rusting may occur after parking the vehicle. This is a common scenario encountered by all vehicles. The Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with an advanced regenerative braking mechanism, which reduces the usage of the hydraulic braking system but may also lead to rusting.
To address this, we provide two brake disc rust removal functions: one passive and one active:
Passive rust removal refers to the system periodically using hydraulic braking when the user operates in high regenerative braking mode, effectively "grinding" the discs to remove rust silently without the user's awareness.
Active rust removal is primarily designed for users who wish to quickly remove rust after long-term parking. We will add this switch in a subsequent OTA update. Once enabled, regenerative braking will automatically be set to 0, forcing hydraulic braking to perform active and rapid rust removal.
