How is the safety of the new YU7 Standard Edition? Is there any difference compared to other trims?

Official answer

There is no difference. The Xiaomi YU7 lineup features the same safety design across all trims. Safety is not divided into high and low configurations, so you can choose with confidence.
In terms of passive safety, the entire Xiaomi YU7 lineup features the same armored cage body, with high-strength steel and aluminum alloy accounting for up to 90.2%. It is equipped with 2,200 MPa Xiaomi ultra-strong steel, applied to the "built-in roll cage" and four-door anti-collision beams, effectively enhancing protection in scenarios such as underride collisions, rollovers, and side impacts.
In terms of safety assistance, the entire Xiaomi YU7 lineup is equipped with LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and the NVIDIA Thor chip with 700 TOPS of computing power. It also comes standard with 25 safety assistance features across the board, including AEB collision avoidance assistance, AES emergency steering assistance, MAI unintended acceleration suppression assistance, and LCP lateral avoidance assistance, to improve the vehicle's response capabilities in extreme scenarios. We also want to remind everyone again that assisted driving is not autonomous driving; please be sure to observe the environment and drive safely.
In terms of battery safety, the entire Xiaomi YU7 lineup comes standard with a "1,500 MPa anti-scrape bottom crossmember" and a battery "bulletproof coating", effectively reducing the risk of battery damage when the vehicle's undercarriage is scraped. Previously, the Xiaomi YU7 LFP battery successfully passed a multi-cell nail penetration test under high temperature, full charge, and no water cooling conditions, equivalent to 400,000 km of aging. Ultimately, there was no thermal runaway, no fire, and no explosion, demonstrating the outstanding safety capability and reliability of the Xiaomi YU7 battery.
In addition, all Xiaomi YU7 models are equipped with triple-redundant door handles, featuring a built-in mechanical cable structure and a separate backup power supply for the door locks. Even in extreme scenarios where the high-voltage battery and low-voltage battery lose power, central unlocking and mechanical door opening can still be achieved.
