How does the roof structure of the N90 Max Explorer Edition differ from the N90 Max, and how safe is the body structure?

Official answer

The Explorer Edition shares the same body structure as the N90 Max. It also uses an armored steel-aluminum hybrid cage body, with high-strength steel and aluminum alloy accounting for 91.14%, reinforced by Xiaomi ultra-high-strength steel at 16 locations using 2200MPa material. It also features the same 2200MPa embedded roll cage, integrated hot-formed door rings, and integrated hot-formed front floor frame.

The pop-up roof cabin structure is reinforced with two additional layers of reinforcement frames and brackets, better ensuring body strength and meeting vehicle-level testing and validation requirements. For example, regarding roof crush resistance, we conducted preliminary physical vehicle roof crush tests under standard conditions, and the Explorer Edition's roof crush performance far exceeds national standards (≥3 times) and C-IASI requirements (≥4 times). In vehicle rollover tests, the pop-up roof cabin showed no detachment or significant deformation even when the vehicle rolled 360°. Additionally, we conducted tests such as a 64km/h deformable barrier offset collision and a 32km/h pole impact test, all of which were passed successfully.

In terms of durability and reliability, we simulated daily user scenarios: the roof completed 10,000 opening and closing cycle tests, and the seat backrests completed 12,000 step-on tests, with no functional abnormalities.

The native design gives the N90 Max Explorer Edition its confidence in safety.
