The minimum ground clearance of the rear anti-collision beam on the Xiaomi SU7 Max is 440mm. In the event of a rear-end collision, the anti-collision beam effectively participates in the crash, minimizing the risk of impact damage to the air suspension tank. Placing the tank outside the cabin at the rear is not unique to Xiaomi; many first-tier luxury brands also adopt "external cabin layout" designs, so there is no need for concern.
In over 40 internal safety tests conducted by Xiaomi Auto, we similarly considered tank collision safety. During a 100% overlap 56km/h rear-end collision scenario, the anti-collision beam absorbed the energy, the tank was not impacted, and its functionality remained intact.
