Does the bulletproof coating conflict with the inverted cell design? Will it affect the downward release of energy from the cells?

Official answer

The "bulletproof coating" upgraded across the entire new-generation SU7 series does not conflict with the inverted design;

In terms of thermal safety, the prismatic inverted cells of the new-generation SU7 adopt a design with the explosion-proof valve facing downwards and feature a dedicated exhaust channel, which does not conflict with the protection of the "bulletproof coating" at the bottom. In the event of thermal runaway in a cell, the high-temperature and high-pressure smoke will be discharged downwards and quickly expelled out of the vehicle along the dedicated exhaust channel, rapidly releasing most of the energy and heat. This design, combined with dual large-surface water cooling plates for heat dissipation and high-temperature resistant aerogel for thermal insulation, can minimize the risk of thermal propagation and protect passenger safety to the greatest extent;

The "bulletproof coating" upgraded across the entire new-generation SU7 series is scratch-resistant, impact-resistant, and puncture-resistant. It can effectively prevent damage to the cells caused by underbody scraping, rubbing, or the impact of sharp objects, which belongs to the structural safety capability of the battery pack;

The battery pack of the new-generation SU7 has excellent battery protection, and the thermal safety design does not conflict with the structural safety design, so please rest assured. In addition, we would like to remind everyone that when driving on unpaved roads, please pay attention to your surroundings, slow down, and for the Pro/Max versions, it is recommended to adjust the chassis height to the highest gear to reduce the risk of scraping the underbody; if you frequently need to drive on roads with poor conditions, we recommend choosing the new-generation SU7 Pro/Max version, which comes standard with a "closed dual-chamber air suspension".
