The pop-up roof cabin has undergone systematic safety considerations across various usage scenarios to maximize user safety.
First, there are comprehensive and intelligent safety reminders for daily operations, such as:
Before raising the roof cabin, the central control screen provides multiple prompts for user confirmation, and the raising operation requires continuously pressing and holding the on-screen button, enhancing operational safety;
If the exterior raising height of the roof cabin is insufficient, the roof cabin is equipped with two ultrasonic radars to assist in detecting overhead obstacles and raising clearance, preventing accidental external collisions;
While the pop-up roof cabin is operating, warning sounds are played through the exterior speakers to remind users inside and outside the vehicle to pay attention to safety;
When the roof cabin is lowering, it prompts the user to confirm that the bed board is lowered, that no one or items are inside the roof cabin, and that no one is around the vehicle, thereby reducing risks such as accidental pinching. Inside the roof cabin, UWB ultra-wideband technology is used for biological detection, capable of identifying people and common pets to reduce the risk of pinching injuries;
After locking the vehicle, if the system detects rain while the roof cabin is not closed, the Xiaomi Auto APP will push a notification reminding the user to close the roof cabin promptly.
Second, safety safeguards have also been implemented for driving. When driving in a parking garage and encountering relatively low height restrictions, such as height limit bars or suspended pipes, the Explorer Edition is equipped with a parking garage height restriction obstacle alert function. When driving at low speeds inside the garage, the LiDAR measures height-restricting obstacles and issues early warnings, reducing the risk of the vehicle scraping its roof. (For specific function details and precautions, please refer to the user manual; the same applies throughout this text.)
In addition, the Explorer Edition includes a series of emergency protection safety designs, such as:
The lifting struts feature a structural self-locking function, preventing them from falling in the event of a power outage, and are also equipped with overheat protection to enhance safety;
In an emergency, the user can quickly interrupt the raising or lowering operation of the roof cabin by tapping the hazard warning light switch (hazard flasher switch) in the roof reading lamp area;
Considering potential extreme environments, the pop-up roof cabin supports emergency waterproofing, wind resistance up to level 7, and meets lightning strike safety requirements. However, these are safety redundancies for extreme scenarios, and we strongly advise against using the pop-up roof cabin in severe weather.
Finally, we would like to remind everyone that functions related to the pop-up roof cabin can only be used on non-public roads1 while the vehicle is parked. Please always ensure the surrounding environment is safe before opening or closing the pop-up roof cabin.
